BMS Project Engineer – East Anglia
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced BMS Project Engineer looking for a new opportunity with a great company with work around Norfolk. Work from home with at least one or two days in the office.
The BMS Project Engineer Position
You will be successful in this role if you deliver projects on time and on budget. You will be helping to improve the efficiency of work by suggesting improvements to work processes.
Key Responsibilities
· Be part of a team dedicated to provision of building management control systems nationwide, but primarily within East Anglia
· Manage & engineer BMS projects to ensure that the works are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with the specification
· Design, supply, programme and engineer Building Management Systems (Trend & Schneider)
· Work with in-house coordinators, clients, contractors, consultants and project managers in project planning, forecasting, ensuring that the necessary resources, tools, equipment and material are available to complete a project
· Understanding the project specification and translating it into a solution
· Preparation of Description of Operation documents, control panel drawings and electrical installation line diagrams
· Preparation of final documentation such as O & M manuals
· Engineer controller software, produce graphics and set-up operator workstations
· Manage the on-site delivery electrical installation & commissioning people
· Handover & demonstration of completed works
· Complete necessary administration documentation such as timesheets and expenses forms
Key skills required
· Good & demonstrable HVAC BMS applications knowledge
· Be able to write a BMS description of operation documents
· Be able to design a control panel and to produce the wiring diagrams
· To be able to write controller strategy software – Trend or Schneider products
· To be able to produce BMS graphics – Latest Trend or Schneider product ranges
· Possess good demonstrable verbal & written communication skills
· To be able to present complex subject matter in a clear and concise manner
· Have a good understanding of BMS network configurations and third-party integration arrangements
Experience and qualifications required
· You will need to have worked in a similar role or at least as a BMS commissioning or support engineer for a minimum of 5 years
· Experience working with both construction & end-user type clients
· Prior record of working in small teams
· Ideally, to have completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship
· To have passed a City & Guilds Electrotechnical Graft 2365 Level 3 course (or equivalent)
· To have completed formal Trend and or Schneider product training to a level required for an applications engineer
· To have completed the BCIA courses: BCM00 to 05 or equivalent
Package
· Hourly paid or salary – employee’s choice Standard working week is 45 hours including travel time
· All travel time is paid
· 25 days paid holiday (plus public & bank holidays)
· Fully expensed company car, including personal mileage
· Laptop, mobile phone & home printer provided
· Pension – in accordance with govt. requirements
· Sick pay – 6 weeks at full pay after 12 months employment raising to 12 weeks at full pay after two years of continuous employment.
