Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to join a leading building controls and engineering organisation. This is a pivotal role responsible for the successful delivery of BMS/HVAC projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will act as a key point of contact for both internal stakeholders and customers, maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach at all times while upholding company Health & Safety and quality policies.
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of cost management across allocated projects
Deliver projects in line with company ISO standards, Health & Safety policies, and CDM regulations
Produce and manage project programmes, progress reports, and revenue forecasts
Attend and lead site progress and project review meetings
Manage project variations, interim applications, and support final account agreements
Maintain accurate and compliant project documentation in line with quality procedures
Collaborate closely with estimating and sales teams on technical and commercial matters
Oversee procurement of control equipment, including sizing and specification
Review and approve technical designs, including control panel drawings
Manage labour forecasting, resource planning, and subcontractor performance
Ensure all operatives and subcontractors are suitably trained and compliant
Lead project design activities, including technical submissions and engineering reviews
Prepare and manage O&M manuals, commissioning documentation, and project close-out records
Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Ensure all method statements and risk assessments are followed and updated where required
Undertake additional duties as required by senior management
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience in project management within BMS and/or HVAC environments
Strong commercial awareness and financial management capability
Technical expertise across multiple BMS/HVAC systems
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Highly organised with exceptional time management skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Self-motivated, accountable, and results-driven
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Accurate and timely submission of weekly timesheets and progress reports
Effective programme creation and management
Delivery of target gross margin (GM%) on projects
Cost-to-complete (C2C) and forecast accuracy
Effective subcontractor and resource management
