The Business Development Manager position
A well-known BMS controls company who are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join their team. You will be working closely with the Operations Director, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth primarily in the Northern regions. Your focus will be on managing existing customers, identifying new customer targets, and building strategic partnerships that align with the company’s Key Account strategy. This is a home-based role with at least one day a week in the office.
Key responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of preferred supplier customers, nurturing existing relationships and securing new opportunities for revenue growth.
Identify and engage with key contacts in the Northern region to ensure comprehensive coverage of Preferred Supplier Agreements (PSAs).
Collaborate with the Sales and Projects teams in each regional office to enhance their understanding of PSA customers and facilitate business-winning objectives.
Promote and sell the company’s brand, showcasing our range of products and services to clients.
Drive value-added and sustainability-led offerings to generate up selling opportunities.
Maintain regular contact with clients through various channels (face-to-face, video, phone) to strengthen relationships, understand their business needs, and identify new opportunities.
Deliver accurate and timely reports, including monthly updates on Northern PSA activity, order forecasts, and competitor analysis.
Ensure KPIs are met, growth targets are achieved, and customer satisfaction is maintained across all regions.
Key Skills required
Proven experience working with customer procurement teams and a successful track record of meeting sales targets and driving revenue growth.
Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to foster long-lasting connections with customers.
In-depth knowledge of estimating, bid management.
Familiarity with the Northern region and existing relationships with contractors, end users, and consultants in the area.
Passion for customer satisfaction and problem-solving.
Highly motivated with a strong drive to achieve results.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong influencing skills and ability to prioritize opportunities effectively.
Excellent organizational skills, diligent in maintaining sales records, reports, and customer account plans.
Commercial awareness and understanding of sales financial principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Team player with a willingness to collaborate and support colleagues across the organization.
Attention to detail, self-motivation, and accountability.
Valid driver's license.

Impressive salary circa £62,000 depending on experience
