Building Management Systems, also known as Building Automation Systems or BAS, are computer-based systems that control and monitor the electrical equipment of a building, including ventilation, lighting, energy, fire and security systems. There are two components to it: software and hardware. It is crucial to have a BMS in order to manage energy demand in a cost-effective manner, and it is essential for all new construction projects. It allows building owners and landlords to reduce energy costs and ensure optimum comfort for tenants, customers, and residents. Using this technology, maintenance staff will not need to visit individual buildings or rooms to turn off, switch on, or adjust heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). You may be able to find employment in this sector as a BMS Commissioning Engineer. BMS commissioning engineers are responsible for installing new building management systems. Prior to the installation, they will work with a team to ensure that all equipment is prepared, conduct risk assessments, and provide technical assistance to other engineers to ensure the installation goes smoothly. Additionally, you may be able to work as a BMS Service Engineer, who is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of a building's management system. They may be hired to provide service for a specific location, or they may be employed by a company that manufactures BMS equipment and travel nationwide to provide these services. Currently, there are no university courses in BMS engineering, so it is recommended that you study a relevant field such as Control Systems Engineer, Electrical or Electronics Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Computer Engineer, or Applied Physics. While an integrated master's degree is not necessary for a successful career in BMS engineering, it may help your job prospects and increase your starting salary.

The North of England, or simply the North, is a region of England, south of the Scottish border and north of the River Trent and the Midlands. Although opinions about which parts of England are in Northern England vary, it usually includes Cheshire, Cumbria, County Durham, Lancashire, Northumberland, Westmorland, Yorkshire, and parts of Lincolnshire. North England has many cities, but it also has many mountains and lakes. There are five major northern cities: Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Sheffield. While North England is quite far from London, there are excellent communication lines and motorways for easy travel around the country, and plenty of airports for international travel. There is no shortage of things to see and do in Northern England. From metropolises like Manchester to sleepy villages like Wark on Tyne, as well as rich history and world heritage sites, Northern England has much to offer. It is evident that the housing market in the North of England is continuing to grow. A great deal of new construction is occurring throughout this region, especially in the larger cities, and the housing prices are some of the lowest in the UK, making it an attractive place for people to live and work. The region offers plenty of things to do and is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery.
